Canada Greener Homes Loan
An interest-free loan of $5,000 to $40,000, repayable over 10 years, for major home energy retrofits — heat pumps, windows and doors, insulation, solar panels and more. Unlike the Greener Homes Grant (closed to new applicants in January 2026), the Loan is still open.
Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program (OHPA)
Federal support of up to $10,000 (up to $15,000 in co-delivery provinces) to switch a home heated with oil to a cold-climate electric heat pump. Aimed at low- and median-income households currently heating with oil.
LogisVert (Hydro-Québec)
Hydro-Québec's home efficiency program. Its flagship measure pays up to $6,700 for an efficient air-source heat pump — the amount scales with the unit's heating capacity at -8°C. Also covers other efficient equipment measures.
Rénoclimat (Québec)
Québec's provincial home retrofit program: a government energy advisor evaluates your home before and after the work, unlocking rebates for insulation, air sealing, windows, and heat pumps — up to $5,250 for an eligible heat pump.
Home Renovation Savings Program (Ontario)
Ontario's main home-energy rebate program (launched January 2025, replacing HER+), delivered by Enbridge Gas and Save on Energy. Heat pump rebates up to $7,500 for non-gas homes, up to $12,000 for geothermal, plus insulation, windows and smart thermostat rebates. Currently funded through November 30, 2026.
CleanBC Better Homes / Energy Savings Program (BC)
British Columbia's home-energy program family. Standard rebates up to $11,000 for switching from oil or gas to an electric heat pump, and an income-qualified stream offering up to $16,000 toward a heat pump plus additional support for electrical panels, insulation, windows and ventilation. $50M funded in each of 2025-26 and 2026-27.
Canada Greener Homes Affordability Program
The federal program for low- to median-income households: free energy retrofits (insulation, draft-proofing, and in many cases heat pumps) delivered at no cost, co-delivered with provinces. Rolling out province by province — availability and measures vary by region.
